Hi, my name is Pennie Crouch and I have been quilting since 1998. A friend invited me to learn how to quilt with her, but I told her I couldn’t because of the RA in my hands. She said I could do it all with a sewing machine. So I signed up and have been at it ever since. Using the sewing machine, and all the new tools such as the rotary cutter, made it possible.

I am a member of the Busy Bees Chapter of the Arizona Quilters Guild. As a member of the Busy Bees, I have learned a lot and have become more confident in my quilting. We have many talented people in our group and they are always willing to help others learn new techniques.

I first learned how to quilt on my home sewing machine. For many years all I did was straight line stitching using my walking foot. I finally got brave and started doing free motion quilting when I got my Aurora 440 that has a stitch regulator. I also used the embroidery module for quilting.

I now have added a longarm and just love to quilt on it. I use the many pantographs available to help quilters like me, but I also do stippling or freehand meandering. I hope to be able to quilt for many years to come.
